Nearby Activities

The Kuruman area has a rich history and diverse and fascinating attractions.

Only 478km from central Johannesburg, Kuruman is known as the oasis of the Kalahari, with its natural fountain in the heart of town delivering around 20 million litres of crystal clear water daily. Commonly known as "The Eye" legend tells, that any who drink from its clear spring may never wish to leave Kuruman again.

Robert Moffat, Scottish missionary, who translated the Bible into Tswana, lived here for 50 years. World-famous explorer, David Livingstone, lost his heart here to the daughter of the Reverend Moffat. Visit their former homesteads, as well as the Mission Station setup at The Moffat Mission.

As Kuru-Kuru Guest House is a very short distance from the heart of town, guests can also enjoy the numerous dining and shopping options in Kuruman.
